Welcome to Mrs. Mauermann's First Grade Classroom!
December, January, and February seem to have flown by! One day we were talking about winter break, the next day we are getting ready for Spring (hopefully). The children continue to work hard and grow as individuals daily. In reading I would like to see the children reading at a level G at this point in the year. My goal is to have every child leave first grade reading at a level I. In writing the children should be able to write 7-10 (or more) sentences that include details that are important to their topic sentence. In math, they should be able to tell time to the nearest half hour, quarter hour, and hour. They should also know addition facts and how to count dimes, nickels, and pennies. Please continue working with your child to ensure his or her growth and readiness for 2nd grade. :)
Thank you for all your continued support and effort in our classroom. I believe that with all of us working TOGETHER you child will be successful this year in first grade!
There are many ways that you may do this. You may call the school at 414-817-5972 or e-mail me at cheryl.mauermann@franklin.k12.us.wi. Lastly, you can always check this WIKI page for all any new information regarding the day in a life of your child as he/she is experiencing first grade this year.
